We're excited to announce that you can now use hyperlinks in your Hometalk posts! Please read the FAQ before using this new feature to ensure that you're complying with our content guidelines. We will keep this FAQ section updated so let us know if your question isn't addressed here.


How many hyperlinks can I add?

Two hyperlinks links per post (in addition to your main link at the bottom)


Where can I insert them?

Anywhere in the body of the post


How do I add hyperlinks?

Use the following format: []yourtext[/url]

Example: After completing my [url=]funky wall cabinet[/url] I decided to take on my countertops!

Where do you recommend placing hyperlinks to maximize traffic?

You can experiment with different ways of doing it to identify what works best. We recommend placing them evenly throughout your post.

What should I link to?

You can link to anything home & garden related that will provide more value to your reader, such as related projects on your blog, your online shop, a project that inspired you on another blog, or a brand you’re working with.


Can I link to sponsored posts and giveaways?

Yes, provided these links are of value to your Hometalk readers

Nothing changes - keep up the fabulous posts! Hometalk exists to help people discover ideas inspiration and advice to help them better their homes. The more detailed and descriptive your post is, the more visibility it will get.
